Eurovision star supports Basildon and Thurrock hospital

By Lucy Chipperfield

This year’s Eurovision entry, Josh Dubovie, visited Basildon University Hospital to add some superstar sparkle to their ‘Building a Better Hospital’ Open Day.

Josh, 19, from Laindon, beat off hundreds of hopefuls to win the BBC’s programme ‘Eurovision: Your Country Needs You’ and went on to represent the UK in the Eurovision during April 2010. It was clear that Josh’s appearance at the Open Day was very much appreciated by everyone who attended.

Throughout the day there was a brilliant array of stalls, exhibitions, lectures and activities for the public to get involved in and enjoy. In addition, the variety of invaluable information truly showcased the excellent work that happens within our local hospital.

During his busy tour, Yourthurrock was lucky enough to talk to Josh to discuss his involvement in the Open Day and his latest ventures.

On behalf of YourThurrock I would like to thank Josh for taking the time to talk to us and to congratulate Irene McLean and her team for organising such a great event.
