Appeal after three-year-old in car crash in Grays

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a road collision in Grays in which a man and a young boy were injured.

The collision happened at Marshfoot Road at about 6.15pm on Friday, July 8, 2011 and involved a blue Jaguar X-Type car and a silver Nissan Navarra.

The Jaguar, which had been travelling towards Grays, left the road and ended up in a field. The occupants of the car, a 60-year-old driver and a three-year-old boy were helped from the vehicle by members of the emergency services and taken to Basildon Hospital.

The man has serious injuries but is improving and the boy had minor injuries and was detained in hospital for observation.

The driver of the Nissan was shaken but uninjured.

The road was closed for four hours while police carried out an initial investigation into the collision.
