Sixth Form at Harris Academy (Chafford) off to a great start

OVER THE last two weeks, a stream of a hundred smartly dressed young men and women have been going to the Harris Academy (Chafford) to do a day of work. No, they are not members of staff but the new intake of sixth formers.

In some ways it looks radical but as executive head, Chris Tomlinson said: “Our school is not that far from Canary Wharf. Hundreds of young people, in executive dress walk towards Chafford Hundred railway station every day.

“Now many do the same but walk into our school.

YT spoke to two of the pupils as well as head of sixth year, Janet Dillon to assess how the first few weeks have gone at the school.

  1. I am a student at Palmers college and disagree with the negative views on the teaching ethic, going into my second year I am loving the independance the college gives students but also that I know support will be provided if needed. I think that the college prepares students very well for life in the real world and would recommend Palmers to anyone.
