BASILDON and Thurrock University hospital is set to be taken to court in relation to a number of health and safety contraventions which allegedly led to patients contracting legionnaires’ disease.
The allegations relate to cases from 2004 to 2010.
The prosecution comes in the week that new boss, Claire Panniker takes over from chief executive, Alan Whittle as well as in the week that the hospital announced a zero-tolerance strategy to tackle the virus.
