Open day for nurses at Basildon hospital

QUALIFIED nurses are being encouraged to find out more about working at Basildon Hospital, at a special open day being held later this month.

There are positions as ward sisters, staff nurses and healthcare assistants in specialities across the hospital, including surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, acute medicine, elderly medicine, the renal and dialysis unit, cancer medicine, respiratory, endocrinology, endoscopy, stroke and cardiothoracic services.

The open day will give prospective employees the chance to speak with staff, find out more about working at Basildon University Hospital and the opportunity to submit their CV. The event is being held on Saturday 26 January from 9am at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (which is based on the Basildon University Hospital site, Nethermayne, Basildon, SS16 5NL).

Diane Sarkar, Director of Nursing, said: “We need staff who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are willing to go the extra mile to make patients feel important and are integral to the team. We have a range of career options for nurses and the open day is our opportunity to show the benefits they will get in return for choosing to work at Basildon Hospital. All we ask is that qualified nurses come along, speak to our staff and learn more about the Trust.”

If you attend on the day with the intention of leaving your CV, please also bring proof of your identity (passport, driving license or birth certificate) proof of professional registration (PIN required for staff nurse and ward sister roles) and two proofs of address.
