Thurrock MP asks PM Cameron to send message to board members of Basildon hospital

THURROCK MP, Jackie Doyle-Price rose on the floor of the House of Commons to send a clear message to the board members of Basildon hospital.

Ms Doyle-Price said: “To tackle the culture of complacency that my right hon. Friend spoke about, will he take this opportunity to give a clear and unequivocal message to the board members of foundation trusts throughout the country that they are accountable for the performance of their hospitals and that if there is persistent poor care, the buck stops with them?

David Cameron (Prime Minister; Witney, Conservative) replied:

“I am very happy to do that and to clarify that they are responsible for standards of care, clinical safety and the cleanliness of hospitals, as well as for meeting financial and other targets, and the buck does stop with them.”

  1. Will this fall on deaf ears once again, I recall a certain Mr Mackinlay saying the same sort of thing whilst he was the MP for Thurrock and nothing has been done at all.

For all too long Basildon Hospital has been mismanaged and the board have been negligent in their duties by letting this happen, they all need to be removed from their position and a new forward looking team installed.

Improvements need to be made as this is the only major hospital in Thurrock and the surrounding area and as we have an ever growing population the problems will only get worse if nothing is done yet again.

  2. Why don’t she ask about the 1200 deaths that’s already occurred up north where she comes from and who is going to be held responsible for this in her Goverment

And the latest revelation that has just come out today firstly mp’s voting not to do away with subsidised restaurants in the house of commons three new food banks opening a day in England plus what also came out today they feed hospital patients three meals a day for the cost of £2.10 for three meals a day. What do you honestly thing they consist of for that kind of money and do she think this will add to the persons health or not . Why don’t she get on with these important issues like this when she opens her mouth or is it because its full of subsidised food from the House of Commons restaurant
