A MAN was taken to Basildon Hospital with a suspected head injury after an incident with a straddle carrier at the Port of Tilbury.

The ambulance service was called to the port at just after 7.30pm on Sunday evening

A spokesperson for the Port of Tilbury said: “The Port of Tilbury confirms that there was an incident on Sunday 16th November during which a member of staff was injured while operating a straddle carrier.

"He is currently in hospital and we are investigating the incident.

"The container terminal continues to operate as normal.”
