In aid of Basildon and Thurrock NHS Charitable Trust, each fundraiser who participates in the 5K winter walk can choose which ward or department in Basildon or Orsett Hospital, their fundraising total is donated to.
And anyone, staff, patient or member of the public can get involved!
Helen Mattock, charity organiser, said: “We wanted to do something to bring together staff and members of the public to raise money for all areas of the Trust. We’re hoping it’ll be a fantastic festive feel-good event that the whole family can get involved in.”
The winter walk will take place at the Basildon Sporting Village on Sunday 11 December. Minimum sponsorship is £25 and the money will go towards additions within the selected wards and departments to improve the environment for patients and staff. Each participant will receive a medal after completing the required number of laps around the track.
