Man in hospital after struck by wooden board at Lakeside

A MAN was taken to hospital this morning after a wooden board fell on his head.

The incident occurred at the Lakeside Retail Park,at just after 9am.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew to the scene, after receiving reports “that the man had sustained a head injury”.

The victim, in his 60s, was taken to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital, but his condition was ’not believed to be life-threatening or serious’.
