Monday traffic and travel: Traffic woes on Dartford Crossing

1800 hrs

There are currently severe delays on the M25 clockwise from J29 (A12) and J1b (Dartford) due to a multi-vehicle collision closing 3 (of 4) lanes between J1a-J1b. Note that this section of road includes the southbound A282 Dartford Crossing across the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge.

Recovery is on scene working to remove the vehicles involved in the collision and every effort is being made to reopen the closed lanes as soon as possible.

Road users are strongly urged to consider alternative routes, if possible, or delaying their journey until the incident has been cleared and the traffic levels have reduced. Please allow a significant amount of extra time for your journey if planning on using the southbound Dartford Crossing between Essex and Kent.

Accident, clockwise between J1A, Swanscombe and J1B, Dartford, 2 lanes blocked, long delays back over QE2 Bridge.

Currently Active. Return To Normal.
Normal traffic conditions are expected between 16:00 and 16:15 on 27 March 2017.
Cause : Road traffic collision.
Delay : There are currently delays of 50 minutes against expected traffic.

The M25 clockwise at junction J1B.
Lane Closures : The hard shoulder, lanes 1, 2 and 3 are closed.
Reason : Road traffic collision.
Status : Currently Active.
Time To Clear : The event is expected to clear between 18:15 and 18:30 on 27 March 2017.
Return To Normal : Normal traffic conditions are expected between 19:15 and 19:30 on 27 March 2017.
Delay : There are currently delays of 40 minutes against expected traffic. Lanes Closed : There are three of four lanes closed.
