Part of the M25 is expected to be closed for hours after a lorry and two tankers collided in Dartford.
It happened on the London-bound carriageway near J1B for the Dartford Crossing at around 6.50pm and all four lanes are blocked.
Emergency services, including firefighters, are at the scene.
Fire crews used foam to extinguish a fire that started following the crash and are also assisting police and Highways England officials to make the scene safe.
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “No-one was trapped, but one person was treated by paramedics for injuries received during the crash.”
Motorists are being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads.
Highways officials say normal traffic conditions are not expected to return to normal until at least 11.30pm.
Please be advised that wind conditions at Dartford QE11 are being experienced above forecast.
They presently have 2 x buffer lanes and speed restriction mitigation in place.
Met Office have informed us to expect winds in excess of forecast until mid-day.
We are presently on the threshold of a full closure and monitoring.
