BASILDON and Brentwood Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has been told it “requires improvemnet” in its latest performance assessment.
The CCG is responsible for commissioning the planning, designing, buying and performance managing of NHS services for everyone who lives in Basildon and Brentwood – over 260,000 people.
It was told by NHS England that it needed to focus on a series of areas including the development of patients’ pathways with GP practices and A&E, the development of a integrated frailty unit at Basildon Hospital and continuing organisational development work.
However the CCG was praised for its financial position – ending 2017/2018 with a surplus of £4.3 m – reducing the deficit to £8.4m, and having “undertaken work to improve board capability, CCG capability and capacity” and the green rating in its annual assessment for patient and community.
Lisa Allen, the CCG’s accountable officer, said: “It is important to note they did highlight a number of successes.”
We all know medical services are failing in Basildon & Thurrock.
Our once loved NHS is now bloated, incompetent and not fit for purpose. Privatise it now!
