TEN more patients with coronavirus have sadly died at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures released by Public Health England today (Friday 17th April).
This brings the total deaths of patients at the hospital dying with coronavirus to 169.
This sadly means the hospital remains the worst-hit by the virus in the whole of the East of England.
Figures show the number of people who have died in Essex hospitals with coronavirus has risen to 846.
The latest figures were released earlier today (Friday April 17th) and show that 57 more people have sadly died in the past 24 hours.
This is a significant increase from yesterday, when 33 patients were sadly confirmed to have died with the virus across the county.
14,567 people have died in hospitals across England – a rise of 847 over the past 24 hours.
Please note that figures only take into account coronavirus-related hospital deaths, and a figure taking into account other parts of the community, such as care homes, has yet to be released.
Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by the virus.
