180 patients have sadly died at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital with coronavirus according to the latest figures released from NHS England (Sunday 19 April).
This is an increase of one in 24 hours according to the figures however the hospital remains the worst-hit by the virus of all of Essex’s seven hospitals and sadly one of the worst in the East of England.
The latest figures for Thurrock as of yesterday (Saturday 18th April) show 217 cases of the coronavirus in the area covered by Thurrock Borough Council.
The death toll stands for Harlow’s Princess Alexandra Hospital from the virus is 155.
The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Trust, who oversee Colchester Hospital and Ipswich Hospital, have also recorded 166 deaths in the past 24 hours.
114 patients have tragically died with the virus at Southend Hospital.
