201 PATIENTS are sadly confirmed to have died at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital with coronavirus according to the latest figures from NHS England (Wednesday 22 April).
This is a rise of four on the previous figure (Tuesday 21 April).
This sadly means the hospital has been the worst-hit in the Anglia region.
The latest number of cases of the coronavirus in the area covered by Thurrock Borough Council as of yesterday is 236 (22 April).
The latest figures show that another 86 people have died with coronavirus in and around Essex over the past 24 hours.
Essex hospital trusts have recorded 801 of those deaths, with a further 274 confirmed at the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust on the other side of the official county border.
Please note that figures at this stage only take into account coronavirus-related hospital deaths.
Official figures for care homes are yet to be released.
YourThurrock ran reported yesterday the company that runs four care homes in Thurrock has revealed that least 23 residents have died with Covid-19 (see address below).
