Children, adults and stores in Thurrock come together to donate to Basildon hospital as part of Ensignbus appeal

BUS company Ensignbus have expressed their thanks to children, adults and stores in the Thurrock community after they answered the call for donations to Basildon hospital as part of their appeal ‘Items for Heroes’.

The appeal took place last night (23 April) with one of the their buses arriving at the hospital decorated with drawings (and posters) which had sent in by children (and adults in the community. The bus was filled with personal protective equipment (PPE) and break-time supplies for the NHS staff, which had been donated them by the community.

Posting the message on their Facebook page ‘EnsignbusCo’, the company also took the opportunity to thank stores who had made donations for the appeal.

In an earlier message on their Facebook page, the company said: “Thank you so much to everyone for some amazing drawings, break time items & PPE donations for Basildon Hospital.’

In another message, they added: “A HUGE Thank you to our friends at @GoldenTours for a very large donation of ponchos which we hope will greatly assist NHS staff.”
