A tree-mendous way to remember a loved one with cancer
ANYONE that has lost someone to cancer, or wants to send hope to someone with cancer, can now email a message to hang on a tree outside the Macmillan information pod at Basildon Hospital.
To promote World Cancer Day, which takes place tomorrow, Thursday 4 February, the tree and the messages that will hang from it will help ensure that loved ones impacted by cancer are remembered.
Ada Emerson, Macmillan Cancer support worker at Basildon Hospital, said: “Cancer hasn’t stopped because of COVID, and cancer care has continued at the Trust throughout lockdown. This day helps us raise awareness about cancer, but also gives us important time to reflect on those we have lost to the disease, as well as all those and their family we are still supporting in living with and beyond cancer.”
Due to social distancing, any short messages should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Messages will then be placed on the tree.
