THREE of Thurrock Council’s housing projects have been shortlisted at the 2022 Essex Housing Awards, in association with Birketts.
The housing schemes that have been shortlisted are:
- Beaconsfield Place (Calcutta Road) development for Meeting Housing Need and Medium Housing Schemes (26-50 homes)
- Claudian Way development for Large Housing Schemes (51+ homes)
- Transformation Programme for Meeting Housing Need
Cllr Luke Spillman, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “I am delighted that three of our housing projects have been shortlisted in award categories at the Essex Housing Awards 2022 – with both our Beaconsfield Place development and Transformation Programme being shortlisted for the ‘Meeting Housing Need’ category which recognises imaginative schemes to best meet housing need.
“The schemes that have been shortlisted offer our residents so much, and it is our priority to continue to build the right homes for our residents of all ages.
“Everyone should have access to a good quality home, and we are committed to exploring new and innovative ways to unlock housing delivery and build high-quality homes for our residents that are fitted out to a high standard and are affordable for those who are eligible.
“Thank you to our housing teams for all you have achieved on the shortlisted programmes, and all that you do for residents in Thurrock. Good luck for the award ceremony.”
This year there were 12 categories open to entry from the public, private and voluntary sector, focusing on high quality developments of any size, partnership projects, action to tackle climate change, skills, supporting the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic, and much more.
