GRAYS Athletic will be playing in the Ryman Premier League next season after they successfully won their appeal to the Football Association.

The club feared that they would be playing in the Essex Senior League next season which, saddled with being temporarily homeless, made many fear the club would go out of existence.

However, Chief Executive Andy Swallow joined by his legal team and Life President Glyn Jarvis successfully fought their case at the FA today

Mr Swallow said: “I am delighted. To be fair, you must give the FA their due. They listened to us, gave their advice. However it only took them twenty minutes to come to their decision.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us. The fans, especially, have been tremendous. However, we are not gloating. We now get our heads down and face a new season.

“We will be playing at East Thurrock next year. We have pre-season friendlies to organise and much to do. But for now, we are all going off for a quiet drink to celebrate.
