YourThurrock is two years old today.
On behalf of all the team, we would like to thank all of you who keep looking in.
In two years, we have filmed over 2,500 news items as well as written thousands of stories.
Our readership continues to grow. This time last year we were averaging 29,000 page views per month. Now the figure is up to 55,000.
Plus there is our YouTube channels where we are averaging 25,000 views a month as well. That channel operates a little like UK Gold. As people surf youtube they come across our films. The more we make, the more viewers we gain.
Thanks as well goes to all our sponsors to whom we are most grateful for supporting us.
Since we started over 200 local newspapers have closed down. All across the country, alternative on-line newspapers are springing up. However, one day we would like to have a print version but we will continue to walk before we can run.
Keep it humble and keep it real is the message but we are committed to bringing all the news in the borough. To celebrate all that is good and refreshing and dynamic about the borough and to scrutinise and hold to account all that needs to be questioned.

Congratulations YT and long may you continue. You have a good mix of stories from politics to sport, some are interesting, some are informative, but best of all I like the videos, they get you right into the heart of the story, and as they say, ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’. Keep up the good work.
