IT will be one month until Christmas this weekend, time to start celebrating the festive season and on Saturday (24 November) St Thomas of Canterbury Church in East Thurrock Road, Grays, is holding its annual Christmas Bazaar.
The event – from noon until 3pm – will provide fun for all the family, young and old, and a chance to pick up some bargain Christmas present.
The iconic church building – as old as Tilbury Docks, 126 years, was originally built as a temporary structure and is now in want of a bit of TLC. The bazaar will help raise some much-needed funds.
Father Christmas himself will be making an appearance with support from his elves, there will be bric-a-brac stalls, hot food and cake stalls, competitions and games for the youngsters to play.
And it will all take place in the church hall in John Street, safe from any inclement weather.
Parish Priest, Brian O’Shea said “The Christmas Bazaar is a wonderful event not just for those who regularly attend services at St Thomas’s and Peter’s but for the whole community. Whether you are a regular parishioner, or if you have never visited us before, you are sure of a warm welcome on Saturday.”
