Roads policing officers arrest man after cannabis found in car in South Ockendon

A MAN has been arrested following a pursuit in South Ockendon on Tuesday 14 October, after roads policing officers stopped a car linked to suspicious activity the night before.

The incident began when officers spotted an Audi car and attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver failed to comply, resulting in a pursuit.


The car was brought to a tactical contact stop just after it entered a car park off High Road, Stanford le Hope.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered 30 deal bags of cannabis, indicating a potential intent to supply. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of:

  • Dangerous Driving
  • Failing to Stop
  • Possession With Intent to Supply Drugs
  • Driving Under the Influence of Drugs
  • Two counts of Possession of an Offensive Weapon
  • The 34-year-old man has since been released on bail until 3 January 2026 pending further investigation.
