A MAN is due to appear in court later this month (October) having been charged with the kidnap and indecent assault of a woman in south-west Essex 21 years ago.
On Bank Holiday Monday 27th May 1991, a 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Ayron Road, South Ockendon.
On Wednesday, October 10 2012, detectives from Essex Police’s Cold Case Investigation Unit arrested Phil Collins.
He was later charged with one count of indecent assault and one count of kidnap relating to the 1991 crime.
The 53-year-old man of no fixed address will appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 17.
