THE Billericay 10k always attracts a good field because it is slickly organised and covers an "interesting" course including a ford!!
Seven Harriers were amongst the 600 starters and they were 3rd in the team event.
First home was Linford-based Keith Willett who was 15th with a pb of 38m46s, a breakthrough performance.
Nick Trencher’s 39m52s for 24th was outside his best but coach Dave Staines is confident he can improve on his pb in the near future.
Jason Syrett always runs well in this race and on Sunday his 34th position
(40m20s) reflected this. The medal winning team was completed by 63
year old Mick Bumstead who was nursing his vulnerable achilles tendon
problem throughout the race but won the 60+ section in 48th spot with a
time of 41m28s.
Great to see Rob Doyle, now Dr Doyle, in 67th place back in action and
Paul Mitchell on the brink of a great leap foward in 89th. Bernie
Johnson’s (59) turned in a pleasing "good for age" run in 92nd place.
