THE ESSEX Sports Village in Aveley is set to close its doors.
The sports village (formerly known as the Firemens Club) in Purfleet Road, Aveley was closed for a few days in March after a Thurrock Council found that they were in breach of their licensing conditions.
But now the club is set to close its doors for good.
YT spoke to the owner, Michael Woodward on Saturday afternoon who said that he "regretted the decision but a decision has been made".
He also confirmed that football would no longer be taking place at the grounds.
YT understands that a large number of youth football teams use the facilities.
Mr Woodward wanted to stress that the Soundon Festival would still be taking place.
