First things first: Congratulations to the organisers especially Annie O’Brien and Rev John Guest. They clearly worked tirelessly and yet exuded a serene inner calm during the day. Perhaps that is why the event was such a success.
This is just the first of a series of films celebrating the Stanford Festival. We interviewed a whole host of people from Angela Smith MP, Morris Dancers, Women on Stilts, the 1-2-3 recycling team at Thurrock Council (thanks for the funky bag) and a host of others.
There was so much to do. It was fitting that the day started with a relaxed, religious service and indeed, the church was open for inner reflection as well as art work for the children.
The Festival was opened by the former East-Enders star Billy Murray who roundly complimented Stanford for its “warm community spirit”.
