It has to be said that there are people in Tilbury who are going at great lengths to nurture a real community spirit. There have been the traditional groups such as the Tilbury Riverside Project and the Community Forum as well as the schools but relative newcomers such as McDonalds Franchisee Craig Newnes and Tilbury FC Media Manager Paul Tandy are also putting in the hard yards to create a community spirit.
So who better to bring down to Tilbury to promote the McDonald’s Community Day than England 1966 hat-trick hero, Sir Geoff Hurst.
