THE BUILDERS of West Thurrock Primary and Ockendon School have gone into administration.
Haymills had been working on the multi-million pound projects since 2008 but speculation was rife that the builders were in trouble after the Gibraltar arm of the company went into liquidation last week.
Over 100 employees have been made redundant after administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) closed their London offices.
The company, formed in 1911, have been taken over by Vinci UK.
It is unclear at this stage what effect this will have on the completion of the two projects.
