IT IS remarkable how much fun a little bit of pain can be!
There was plenty of screaming and laughing at the Seabrooke Rise Community House’s Christmas fun day on Saturday (12 December).
As well as a visit from Santa, plenty for food and drink, and games three brave gents volunteered to have their legs waxed to raise funds for the Community House.
Residents paid 50p a go to place a waxing strip on the legs of the volunteers — two local residents, and the local housing manager, Mark Wise , who was sponsored by many colleagues at the council — and rip it off!
The event also included Carol singing, with the Youth Club Christmas Belles and a jelly-eating competition.
All the money raised — £340 before the leg-waxing sponsorship — went to the Community House which provides services for people living on Seabrooke Rise.
