Keep Kids Active At Half Term

Young people in Thurrock can have fun and keep fit this february half term, with lots of exciting activities at various Thurrock schools.

A range of activities are on offer: Streetdance, Basketball and Aerobics/Cardio Kick, to Dancetacular, Sportacular, Jamboree, Mini Olympics and much more.

Cllr Sue MacPherson, Thurrock Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “These holiday activities have been designed to promote a healthy body and mind for our youngsters, and I, for one, have already booked my own children on to some of the sessions.

William Edwards will host the Streetdance sessions

“Half term is a time when young people always look out for exciting things to do and, in addition to engaging them in these activities, it is important they keep fit and have fun at the same time.”

The activities have been organised by the Thurrock Council-led school’s Central Cluster, which is part of a national pilot project looking at ways in which schools can support the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and their families.
