Crampons Required!
The Eight games Thurrock had to play in March took its toll on our young squad. With 24 points available we only managed to secure nine. This saw us fall out of the play off places and left us with an uphill climb for the remaining five fixtures in April.
Fortunately we were not alone in the slip up stakes as our fellow play off contenders also faltered as the tension mounts. There is so much at stake for the successful team that wins promotion to the Football Conference, larger gates and more TV and Radio coverage should increase revenue streams which could be a life line for most clubs.
Newport County won our division on the 15th of March with six games still to play, they are well deserved run away Champions and at that point had only lost one game. Then they came to visit us on the 20th March at Ship Lane and we managed to humble the newly crowned team beating them 2-1 in what was a fantastic display by our lads.
Looking at the remaining fixtures it could well go to the last kick of the last match on April 24th to decide the four play off places. Despite our slip ups in March we are confident that we could still snatch a place at the last minute.

Shortage of Green and Yellow Scarf’s !!!
The sudden up surge in Yellow and Green (Thurrock) scarfs has shocked the knitting industry. The National Knitters association of Great Britain (NKAGB) have had to resort to the media to request any unused balls of wool in Green or Yellow to be returned asap.
The on line shop e-bay has now had to apply restrictions on sellers trying to capitalise on the extortionate prices being paid. One seller said he has been targeting Old Folks
Homes trying to get as much Yellow and Green as possible as he believes the bubble will burst on 1st April.
Mark OToole
Thurrock have signed former Republic of Ireland Youth international Mark O’Toole from League of Ireland side Galway United.
Born in Dagenham, in September 1989 Mark was originally on the books at Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City.
In July 2008 he trialled with Barnet, playing in a pre-season victory over St Albans City and then in late November 2008 he signed for Grays Athletic then in March 2009 he was signed by Galway.
Mark has also been capped for the Republic of Ireland at both under-17 and under-19 level.with a lot of pace and he has proven talent so we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do for us.”
