Homestead Residents Hail Victory at Planning

FOXFIELD Drive residents were hailing a victory last night in stopping a planning application for housing development in their street.

Spokesperson Malcolm Stansfield joined a mini-bus of residents at the meeting of the Thurrock Council Planning Committee.

The residents were heartened by speeches from Tory councillors John Everett, Pauline Tolson and Sue MacPherson who pointed to the danger of over-development in the area and the conflict such building would have with statutory regulations.

The application was unanimously rejected.
