Gary Wade: Street Poet

THERE is always an interesting article to be extracted when someone holds an exhibition in the alcove in the Thameside Complex. Gary Wade is no exception. Gary has written over 400 poems on a vast variety of subjects. Phil Jupitus started off in Stanford-le-Hope many years ago as Porky The Poet and Essex has a rich mine of poets from the middle ages to punk (Atilla The Stockbroker anybody?).

We asked Gary about how it all started, his motivation and why he decided to have an exhibition. We look forward to Gary reciting his poetry around the borough over the coming months.
