World No Tobacco Day is coming up (31 May) – and to mark the occasion, Thurrock Council’s Health Promotion team has joined forces with South West Essex PCT (Vitality team) and The Essex Fire and Rescue Service, to warn residents about the dangers of smoking.
The teams will be taking the Vitality Mobile Unit into Grays this Thursday (27 May), outside Morrisons supermarket, between 10am and 4pm. The aim of the event will be to highlight the effects of smoking, particularly on women.
Advice on how smoking affects the skin will be available. Sample Clarins skin products, kindly donated by Boots, will also be handed out.
The Vitality team will be on hand to give immediate smoking cessation advice, where required. The Essex Fire and Rescue Service team will be available all morning, providing advice on home safety, particularly the dangers of smoking in the home.
