IKEA: Design With Quarry Hill

THE QUARRY Hill “Improvement Plan” takes many shapes and forms. It isn’t about broad strokes but about a series of initiatives and changes.

The library, well, the library didn’t really exist. What should have been the hub of the school, the fulcrum of the learning environment just wasn’t there.

Staff got Ikea involved to design and decorate the library. Space, light, colour and comfort. It is also funky, so that the students feel comfortable in the library.

YourThurrock joined author JD Irwin, Ikea staff and the staff and students of Quarry Hill Juniors as they had a sneak preview of the library.

The library will be officially opened in September.
