ORSETT Councillor Mike Revell and members of the community were celebrating yesterday after a planning application for Burrows Farm on Brentwood Road, Bulphan was rejected by the Thurrock Thames Development Corporation (DC).
The application was for the retention of changes and additions to a waste transfer station including lorry parking and storage area; screener, crusher and changes to vehicular access together with retained and proposed landscaping.
The secretary of the Bulphan Community Forum, Janet McShane made an impassioned appeal to the DC pointing out the problems with dust, noise as well as claiming that the station was an “eyesore”
Orsett councillor, Mike Revell called the application “unwanted and un-needed”
In refusing the application, the DC indicated that they would be writing to Thurrock Council regarding enforcement actions in relation to the farm which they hoped would be carried out quickly.
