NHS South West Essex AGM

THE PRIMARY CARE trust will be holding its AGM on Wednesday 29 September at 12.30pm in the Nightingale Centre, Brentwood, CM14 5GB.

As well as fulfilling the statutory function of publicly approving the accounts, the AGM is an opportunity to look back at NHS South West Essex’s successes, acknowledge areas for improvement and hear about the primary care trust’s key objectives.

The meeting is also a chance for people to meet those who are accountable for the local health service, ask their questions and give their feedback.

Their annual health heroes awards will also be part of the AGM. Every day doctors, nurses and healthcare workers help to save lives; improve the health of hundreds of people; give advice and guidance to support people through difficult times or to access the right services in the right place at the right time. We will be recognising the achievements of nine health heroes nominated by members of the public for their hard work and dedication.

Alongside the formal meeting there will be a number of information stalls in the Nightingale Centre.

From 11.30am, people can browse the stands and learn more about local health services, find out about the opportunities available for partners and the community to work together, and talk to NHS South West Essex staff.

The stalls will give a snapshot of healthcare and health-related issues in the area, including healthy living, mental health services, voluntary services, patient advice, and courses available to support people with long term conditions

Key NHS South West Essex partners will be among those with stalls at the event, including NHS South West Essex Community Services, SEPT (South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust), the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, local Council for Voluntary Services and LINks (Local Involvement Networks).

The AGM is a public meeting, which is free to attend and open to everyone. However, NHS South West Essex would like to plan for numbers, so anyone wishing to attend the meeting is asked to contact the communications team by phoning 01268 705179 or emailing communications@swessex.nhs.uk.
