Borrow a real person to tell you their story at the Living Books event on Saturday 23 October, from 11am to 3pm at Grays Library, Orsett Road.
Living Books was first launched in Thurrock, April this year and are about Thurrock residents who have faced various challenges in their lives which range from caring for someone with dementia to living with a disability, overcoming substance misuse or coping with redundancy.
One of the attendees from the last event said it was “an exciting, shared experience” and two others said “it was a great way to connect to people you normally would not meet” and “I really enjoyed listening to others’ experiences and made some new friends”.
Cllr Lynn Worrall, Thurrock Council’s Cabinet for Community, Culture and Leisure, said: “It is your chance to speak with someone in the community who may have a different life experience to you, or who knows what it is like to go through something that is affecting you or someone you know.
“Why not reserve a Living Book now and gain a new perspective to life?”
