Tell us about your work?
“Yatoo is based on the side of the Guemgang River, in a small city called Gong Ju in South Korea. It was established in 1981, starting as the ‘Four Seasons Research Society’. Their inspirations have been touched by the natural changes in 4 seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter). The process of birth to death is happening in our mother nature and this process becomes Yatoo’s background.
“From 1990 Yatoo works internationally and in 2004 Yatoo established Guemgang Nature Art Biennale. Under the name of Nature Art, Yatoo works with many international artists and they express their artistic emotions in Gong Ju city. Also Yatoo runs international residency programmes.
How has your work changed?
It depends on the work site and conditions really. The reason why all my works are different is because every time I get different inspiration running into my mind. I noticed that my work environment has a huge impact on my work.
Come to the Thameside Theatre bar tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm. Entry is free. Amongst the artists exhibiting are: Carl Wilkinson, Jane Barry, Lata Upadhyaya and Itan Deterville.
