Swimming in Majorca

Swimmers from Thurrock Swimming Club and West Suffolk Swimming Club joined forces to fly overseas to Colonia Sant Jordi in Majorca to a warm weather training camp at the end of October.

Under the direction of Thurrock’s Head Coach, Lisa Bates and West Suffolk’s Head Coach, Dan Pilbrow, 19 swimmers from Thurrock SC and 9 West Suffolk SC swimmers gave up their half term school break to train for 20 hours at the internationally well known Best Swim Centre based 30 minutes from Palma.

Rubbing shoulders with teams from Sweden, Denmark, Wales, City of Liverpool and the Swansea Intensive Training Centre, the borough swimmers trained intensively twice daily in an open air 50m Olympic pool, coupled with core land training sessions.
