Thieves cause Commuter Misery Again

Cable thieves have struck again so c2c train services are subject to delays and cancellations because of overhead line damage in the Chalkwell area earlier today. The following services are operating:

Fenchurch Street – Leigh-on-Sea via Basildon: limited train service
Fenchurch Street – Pitsea via Ockendon: train service
Fenchurch Street – Grays via Rainham: train service
Leigh-on-Sea – Southend Central: bus service
Southend Central – Shoeburyness: limited train service
Network Rail engineers are working to restore the equipment as quickly as possible and expect to restore one of the two tracks for start of the evening peak. We are therefore planning to run as many services as possible of our normal evening peak from London Fenchurch Street to Southend and Shoeburyness. There may though be some delays tonight due to displacement of trains and crew.

Network Rail also hope to restore equipment on the other line shortly afterwards. This will allow us to operate train services in the opposite direction from Shoeburyness and Southend to Fenchurch Street. Until this time services will continue to be operated by buses.

C2c expect to have a full normal service on Thursday 11th November.
