IT has been a great month for East Thurrock United and their boss John Coventry. They went through November winning every single game, placing them second in the league and with every opportunity of pushing on through christmas.
What was even more remarkable was that four of the five games were away from home.
Covo wasn’t the only borough based success.
Experienced goalkeeper Steve Northwood was released by Whyteleafe during October and sent an e-mail to every club in the league offering his services.
It was Grays Athletic who responded and they have had no cause to regret it. Indeed, by conceding only one league goal from three league matches during November, giving Northwood the Sells Goalkeeping Academy Good Hands Safe Hands award for Division One North.
