THERE is a cruel irony in the weather scuppering plans for Christmas fairs but nevertheless, it has put the kybosh on a number of events throughout the borough. Last night (Thursday) the Corringham winter fayre was restricted to being indoors.
The ever-popular Tilbury fair, scheduled for tonight, has also been cancelled. It was due to be opened by eighties “legend” and South Ockendon resident David Van Day.
Our thoughts go out to all the organisers, who have put in so much hard work.
