Thurrock Garden Centre had a very welcome surprise addition to their flock with the very unexpected birth of a baby goat in ‘Santa’s Grotto’ yesterday.
Both mother and daughter are doing very well at the centre at South Road, South Ockendon after two members of the staff acted as emergency midwives. The baby has been named Steph-Annie after the two staff members.
The farm where the goats are on loan from, knew that the mother was expecting but anticipated the birth after Christmas.
Every one at the Garden Centre was absolutely thrilled.
The other animals in ‘The Grotto’, consisting of Reindeer, Alpacas, Piglets Sheep Goats, Rabbits and Donkeys, were all last night celebrating!
