A HASSENBROOK school hero is to be honoured with a scouting award for rescuing two sisters.
Max Pryor, 13, is set to be given the Chief Scout Commendation for meritorious conduct. In July, he ran into the sea at Chalkwell and saved two sisters from drowning.
He found the pair lying unconscious in the water and towed them back to shore in an inflatable canoe.
Max, of Godman Road, Chadwell St Mary told the Evening Echo: “I didn’t know I was being put forward for the award. It was a bit of surprise, but I’m looking forward to the ceremony.”
