Deputy mayor praises National Grid

The National Grid has been praised for upgrading overhead cables in West Thurrock, Tilbury and Chafford Hundred.

In partnership with Electricity Alliance East, the organisation installed the new electricity lines while keeping the local community informed throughout the work.

Deputy mayor Tunde Ojetola said: “I want to thank National Grid and all the staff involved in the electricity works in Chafford Hundred.”

Chair of the Chafford Hundred Community Forum Philomena Cleavely praised the organisation for keeping disruption down while working on the pylons.

National Grid contributed to local initiatives by donating money to the Chafford Hundred Community Forum to buy park furniture and the North Stifford Village Community Group for new signage and has said it will return to the sites for minor works in 2011.
