Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle in the early hours of Christmas Day.
The vehicle had left the carriageway on the A1089 which runs from Tilbury to the A13. Two people were in the vehicle and one person was trapped.
Fire crews used two sets of specialist cutting equipment to release the casualty.
