Partyman World of Play part of Change4life Great Swapathon

Change4life is asking everyone to make a healthier start to 2011 – by joining together to make one million healthy swaps as part of its Great Swapathon!
Simply visit the Change4Life Swap Centre (https://swapathon.co.uk) on the Change4Life website to get loads of tips and swap ideas. Four million £50 voucher books will be available through the News of the World newspaper on the 9th January and in ASDA supermarkets while one million will be handed out through local businesses which have signed up to Change4Life, the Government’s health initiative.

Families in England are being offered a total of £250 million worth of free vouchers in a bid to encourage them to lead more healthy lifestyles. The money-off tokens, which will give discounts on healthy foods and activities such as indoor play sessions with parents, also offered access to nutritional advice and recipes as an incentive to make healthy changes in their family’s food and fitness habits.

Partyman World of Play Basildon, Lakeside and Wembley as well as over 100 other members of the Play Providers Association (PPA), which represents quality operators of indoor playcentres throughout the UK, is delighted to be supporting this campaign and offering 50% off trips to participating indoor playcentres to encourage parents to visit their local playcentre after school hours

(Half price vouchers will be accepted at participating PPA centres on weekdays after 3-30pm until the 6th February 2011) Active play at PPA member sites is great fun for all the family with the phrase “Exercise in Disguise” coined to describe the vast health benefits.

Health Secretary Andrew Lansley said: “This is a very exciting initiative. It’s a great example of how Government, the media, industry and retailers can work together to help families to be healthy.”

Managing Director of Partyman World of Play, James Sinclair commented “We are delighted to be part of the Great Swapathon helping families in Basildon, Thurrock and Wembley to get a healthier start to 2011. The great thing about indoor play is that the health benefits are hidden with children running around and jumping and climbing on our great play structures without realising that they are getting lots of exercise” We also serve a great range of healthy meals and snacks and these vouchers mean you can pop in after school and play for half price which is a fantastic deal.”
To make it easier for your family to get started, we’ve put together our top 5 playcentre swaps

Swap sitting around indoors for racing around at an indoor play centre: Kids will love it and because they will get all of their recommended 60 active minutes and they’ll probably sleep more soundly afterwards too.

Swap sugary drinks like fizzy drinks or squash for water, milk or unsweetened fruit juice: Keep your kids well hydrated when they play.

Swap snacking for a meal: It’s easier to make healthier choices and keep hunger pangs at bay. Partyman World of Play have lots of healthy meals available on their menu.

Swap 4 wheels for 2 feet whenever you can: Maybe you can walk to and from your local Partyman World of Play?

Swap watching for interacting: Why not take the opportunity to play with your child at Partyman World of Play. Parents are allowed on our playstructures to supervise play. We are sure you will find it a great work out too!!

A trip to a playcentre for your children is the equivalent of adults joining a gym … the more you play, the fitter your kids will get and scientists have linked that to increased concentration and learning potential as well as and happiness.
