Updated: “Suicide” at Dartford Crossing caused lunchtime chaos on roads

LUNCHTIME traffic at the Dartford Crossing ground to a standstill after police were called to a suspected suicide.

Queues soon formed at about 11.30am this morning (Friday).

Traffic in Essex tailed back to junction 28 at Brentwood whilst at Lakeside, traffic were directed off the M25 and away from the bridge.

Sources near to the scene said that they believed that a man had fallen or jumped from the Kent side of the bridge.

Roads were re-opened just after 2pm.
