THERE COULD be chaos at the Dartford Crossing tomorrow morning (Monday) as fuel protestors plan to travel from the M2 in Kent to the Coryton Oil Refinery depot.
Activists will meet at the Moto services on the M2 at 8am and drive through the Dartford Crossing in convoy winding their way to Coryton.
This will be the third attempt at a protest at the refinery. The other two protests had less than ten protestors marshalled by dozens of police officers.
Despite this, campaign leader Donna Butler, from Sheerness is confident that there could be “up to 200 cars” involved in the protest.
The police have confirmed that they are working with a number of agencies to try to ensure the free flow of traffic over the crossing tomorrow morning.

I suggest that Donna Butler writes a piece for yourthurrock to explain how her protest is relevant. Protesting at the oil refinery is completely pointless and shows she has zero understanding of the problems with fuel pricing. Of course, she won’t take up the offer because she can’t justify her position. Did 200 turn up? Perhaps yourthurrock will do a follow up piece?
I applaude Donna for standing up to be counted instead of just moaning about the fuel increases like most of us. Of course these protests do cause inconviences for others, but it is still our right to have an opinion.
Having an opinion is one thing, completely misunderstanding the problem and protesting at the wrong place for the wrong reasons and causing disruption to others is quite another!
